| Coach & Facilitator

Jill has worked in the fields of organisational development, research, marketing and training and leadership development. She has a holistic approach to coaching, facilitation, culture, feedback and leadership development

Background

I have worked as a facilitator and coach for over 20 years.  I began my facilitation experience in the heady days of outdoor learning in the 1990’s and realised I had a love of helping people have insights about themselves and others.

More recently I have worked with the consulting arm the UWA Business School, the AIM-UWA Executive Education team.  This work was most satisfying as it gave me many opportunities to impact organisations through developing senior leaders and Executive teams – both as a coach and facilitator.  I was also given numerous opportunities to develop and refine some internal 360 and culture diagnostics and inventories – an area I am passionate about.  Measurement is so important to shifting behaviours and cultures and I am fortunate to have become accredited in, and developed, many of these tools.

Today I am proud to be a part-owner, director and colleague to many brilliant souls at Integral.  As the inaugural Head of Leadership I am very focussed on ensuring all our offerings, coaching and workshops, are of the best quality and ensuring we are developing leaders who are meeting their own, and their organisation’s, intentions and goals.

My Why

I know one of my roles in life is to help people become more aware of their inner worlds (thoughts, emotions, values) and increase their capacity to have agency or more focussed intent in their lives.  I love helping people understand they have choices about their responses to both external challenges but also their own thinking and emotions.

I am passionate about the role mindfulness plays in leadership development and as a qualified yoga teacher, I often find myself talking with clients about this and their overall wellbeing (physical, emotional and mental).  I am a firm believer that leaders will be at their best when all of these aspects of their lives are getting attention

How I work

I have been described as a bit of ‘straight shooter’!  I do like to get stuff done and I love making that happen as part of purpose-driven team.  I also love partnering with organisations to help them work through their challenges so I am really at my best when I am building relationships and getting stuff done.

In my role as Executive Manager at ……., I have worked with Jill Dare for the last 3 years. This work has principally been in developing the leadership capabilities of our senior staff. Jill has been highly effective in this work, particularly as a result of her direct and effective communication style whether one-on-one or in group training. Jill has the ability to engender respect from a wide range of staff from different functional backgrounds and levels in the organisation whilst also able to have the tough conversations where required on staff performance. Jill’s breadth of knowledge and experience and calm and considered approach have resulted in measurable constructive change within our staff and teams.

What I do

I am currently in the inaugural role of Head of Leadership at Integral.  The main reason for my professional existence is to ensure all of our Leadership development offerings (predominately coaching and workshops) are of the highest standard.  This means ensuring our people are at their best and the systems that support them and our clients are user friendly and seamless to use.  I am loving this role, because even though my face to face delivery as a facilitator is now limited, I get to significantly influence the impact we have on building better leaders by influencing our service offerings at a more strategic level.  I am also fortunate enough to continue working as a coach in this role.

What I love

I love my morning beach swims with my dog every day, being in nature, reading, how yoga keeps me grounded and learning about human behaviour and our potential.
