Ron is the founder of Integral and has over 40 years of experience in leadership and organisational development in Australia, Southeast Asia and the USA. Ron holds a BSc (Eng), an MBA and a PhD in organisational development. Ron is passionate about human development, leadership, meditation & mindfulness.

Background

Ron is well known for his innovative approach to leadership development and his ability to ensure maximum transfer of learning to the workplace. He has over 25 years’ experience in conducting leadership and team development programs in Australia, Southeast Asia and the United States. Ron has consulted to many organisations in Australia and abroad, and has been involved in training, teaching and consulting in many areas of leadership and organisational development; including managing change, stress, performance review, organisational and team effectiveness, and strategic planning. 

He has been extensively involved in the design and delivery of over 200 leadership and organisation development programs and numerous strategic plans for public, private and not-for-profit organisations.

Specialties

Ron's specialties include leadership development, facilitation, coaching and mindfulness. Ron has developed skills, tools and models that develop leadership, team and organisational effectiveness. Ron has worked with countless leaders to help them deal with difficult behaviour and poor performance. Ron has been extensively involved in teaching mindfulness to leaders and teams to help build a positive high performing culture.

Another area of Ron’s expertise in strategic planning and facilitation. He has facilitated over 60 strategic plans and has facilitated over 150 inter-department and inter-organisation meetings to resolve issues and develop successful action. 

Qualifications 

Ron holds a BSc, an MBA and a PhD. He has taught in the Graduate School of Management at Macquarie University, Curtin University, Murdoch and the University of Western Australia on the MBA and EMBA programs. Ron was a Professor of Leadership at the Graduate School of Management at the University of Western Australia. He has been a visiting professor at Marymount University and at the Jepson School of Leadership at the University of Richmond in the US. 

Ron was also Director of the Integral Leadership Centre, the commercial and research centre of the University of Western Australia / Australian Institute of Management Alliance

Industry Experience

Ron has been a leadership and organisational development consultant for over thirty years, and specialises in strategic thinking, best practice in performance management and organisational systems and promoting positive cultural change.

Over the last twenty years, Ron has developed and conducted research on psychometric instruments that measure management skills, team roles, organisational culture, job satisfaction and even other psychometric instruments.

Passions

Holistic development: Ron is committed to improving staff wellbeing and customer satisfaction, and has a keen desire to promote positive environmental actions and social contribution.

Meditation and mindfulness: Having also been involved with meditation, yoga and the study of eastern and western philosophy, Ron maintains an interest in the application of different modes and levels of consciousness as they relate to organisational development, quality of work experience and leadership styles. Ron was one of the founding members of the Zen Group of Western Australia and has written books on meditation and haiku. A keen meditator he has been practising twice a day for over 30 years.

Philosophy: Ron has been involved with the practice, study and teaching of philosophy and meditation for over thirty years and has taught ‘Leadership and Philosophy’ courses on both the University of Western Australia and Curtin University’s MBA programs. He also teaches a course titled ‘Living Philosophy’ to the general public through the Integral Institute Australasia.
