Leading large teams across multi site businesses has given Mark a significant insight into many aspects of human behaviour in the work force, allowing him to develop a keen sense of organisational culture, its impact on performance, how to drive positive change for both the organisation and the individuals within.
Mark's qualifications include Master of Business Administration, Graduate Diploma in Management and Associate Diploma in Human Resource Management.
As CEO of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest Marine wholesale distributer and manufacturer, Mark successfully steered the organisation back on course before orchestrating the sale of the company to Brunswick Corporation owners of Mercury Marine, the USA’s largest marine company. Mark also led a civil engineering company as Group General Manager on a journey of rediscovery which saw them redefine their position within the industry and become leaders of innovation and performance, renewing the trust of their clients whilst significantly enhancing the profitability of.
Over the past decade he has been intimately involved in some major turnaround projects, working with Wesfarmers as General Manager of their Coles Supermarkets business in both Queensland and Western Australia. Over a five-year period, Mark helped lead the organisational and cultural change which saw the business transformed, with EBIT tripling and revenue growth exceeding their major competitor for 20 consecutive quarters.
During Mark’s tenure as Human Resources Manager responsible for 7000 team members across 100 sites, he facilitated developmental and technical programs, performance management and strategic planning for the organisation.
Mark was appointed to the board of Foodbank earlier this year, a non-denominational, not for profit organisation, which acts as a pantry to the charities and community groups who feed the hungry.
Mark has a real passion to help organisations gain clarity of their circumstance and understand their challenges, conceptualise, formulate and implement effective strategies that result in their long-term success.
