Why Your Strategy Workshop Needs a Professional Facilitator

Management Courses Perth - Professional Facilitation

If you have been involved in any of our management courses or leadership development programs on our Perth campus or at your place of business, you have experienced how smoothly workshops and meetings go when they are professionally facilitated. A professional facilitator can save time and money for an organisation by preventing the meanderings, conflict and pointless debate that often hinder movement toward useful outcomes.

Benefits of Professional Facilitation

Facilitation makes workshops and meetings more effective and productive because it allows participants to overcome fixed mindsets, understand others’ viewpoints and transcend issues that often block productivity and/or communication. Facilitation also provides timelines, resources and responsibilities to help provide clear direction.

Professional facilitators from Integral Development have extensive experience helping organisations produce effective, timely outcomes in such areas as process improvement, strategic planning, cultural change, scenario planning, problem-solving, generating new ideas, community consultation and planning for environmental and sustainability issues.

The end result is to achieve positive outcomes in as little time as possible, reduce potential conflict, effectively manage diverse behaviours and viewpoints, ensure that every idea is respected and considered, use time as efficiently as possible and create an environment that is emotionally safe for participants.

Why Integral Facilitation is Superior

All programs at Integral Development are based on Integral Theory as created by Ken Wilber. When the 4 quadrants of Integral Theory are implemented, they become the Integral Facilitation Model. The Integral Facilitation Model helps provide thorough planning, a clear scope and more effective achievement of the desired objectives.

The Integral Facilitation Model also helps manage the feelings of the participants, placing value on participation and confronting if the need arises. It also encourages leader commitment and the development of authentic teamwork. Ultimately, the Integral Facilitation Model uses a structured approach and the best in facilitation techniques, with appropriate materials, costs and timing.

The Process

The Integral Development process of facilitation honours and encourages the creative process, enabling clients to create desired outcomes more efficiently. First, we meet with the client to determine the key objectives and obtain background information. Then, we determine the location, timing, facilities and outcomes, creating an agenda and outline.

After we facilitate the workshop, we implement actions, summarise outputs and monitor progress.
