The Importance of Ethics in Leadership

If you have taken any of our leadership training in Perth, you already know that a commitment to ethical leadership is one of the cornerstones of our training and philosophy. Our Integral Leadership Program and all of the leadership courses that we teach in Perth are deeply rooted in ethical behaviour on the personal, professional and corporate levels.

We believe that everything we do entails a consequence and ethical behaviour is essential in any great leader. It is a leader’s responsibility to set an example for those he or she is trying to lead. If a leader always acts in an ethical manner and communicates effectively that ethical behaviour is in turn expected from everyone in the workplace, it sets a precedent and a foundation for ethical, responsible behaviour.

We feel that ethics are so crucial to a vibrant, effective, corporate culture that we offer a one-day course called “Ethics in Leadership and Decision-making.” The course expands upon our basic concept of ethical behaviour, and helps staff throughout every level of any organisation better understand how important it is for any business to make ethics the backbone of their operational procedures.

The program helps explain how to use ethical principles to steer the decision-making process through the myriad “grey areas” that inevitably arise during the operation of any business.

To help participants learn how to apply ethics when there is no obvious ‘black’ or ‘white,’ ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ solution, they will be allowed the opportunity to work their way through various ethical dilemmas. After the role-playing exercises, participants will share what they have learned and they are free to voice their  opinions about the work with the group.

We always solicit feedback from all participants, and this program has always received high ratings from those who have attended. The goal of this program–and the goal of all our programs–is to provide meaningful tools that participants can implement immediately upon returning to the workplace. It is the layer of practical accountability that ensures significant returns on investment.

A company-wide commitment to ethics is one of the fastest ways to transform any workplace. When a business provides this course for their entire staff, it can produce a company-wide paradigm shift. While the leadership courses in our Perth facility are intended for leaders, everyone on the staff can benefit from the ethics course.
