About Sue Findlay

Sue Findlay is an experienced presenter and senior consultant for Integral Development, and specializes in the introduction and use of technology by organisations to improve their bottom line. Sue has a successful track record implementing and managing complex projects and stakeholder management, both in the government and the private sector.

Qualifications

Sue holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Medical Technology and spent 15 years working in the highly regulated Transfusion Medicine industry both in Australia and overseas. She has a solid history in business process improvement, working within TQM and AQC frameworks within the health sector, and she was required to ensure compliance with NATA, TDA, ASBT, (AUS) AABT, CAP, FDA, and JCAHO (USA). She is also trained in LEAN/Six Sigma methodology, and is in the process of obtaining NLP Practitioner/Master certification.

Sue holds a Masters in Leadership and Management, and is a certified Senior Supply Professional. A gifted teacher, Sue has the ability to break down complex concepts into easily understood components, and has over 20 years experience lecturing (including positions with Curtin and Murdoch University) subjects such as Transfusion Medicine, General Pathology, Business Process Improvement, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Procurement and Value Chain Analysis.

Industry Experience

Sue sat on the Executive of her professional body AIMS for 7 years, lobbying the federal government on health issues and generally promoting the industry of Medical Science. Sue took 2 years time out in the middle of her health career to teach fulltime nursing and pathology students in the areas of Microbiology, Infection Control, Hematology and General Pathology in Tasmania. Upon her return from working overseas Sue spent some time in a management position in the Central Great Southern Health & Aged Care Service, where she worked with the district hospitals and nursing post Directors of Nursing to streamline and systemize administrative processes in a successful bid to reduce workload and waste.

She then moved to the Department of Treasury and Finance (formerly CAMS, Department of Industry & Technology), where she was promoted to a Director role in Government Procurement, specialising in the procurement of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

In 2008 Sue spent 9 months facilitating workshops with Telstra national Account Executives who specialized in the health sector. The aim of the workshops was to help technology savvy sales people position their technology solutions so as to add value to the health sector, predominantly hospitals and the radiology sector. This insight into the use of business-oriented cutting edge technology as a tool to improve productivity, reduce waste or introduce efficiencies into the health sector gives Sue an added dimension to bring to the workshops.

She is also assisting Woodside Energy Ltd develop an internal user-pays charge-back model, an initiative that has already delivered major benefits to the organisation. Then in 2009 Sue worked for a year as a Senior Supply Chain consultant focusing predominantly in the oil and gas and mining sectors. During that time Sue developed and ran two highly successful workshops, “Win that Bid” and “Tender Specification Writing”.

One of Sue’s most complex projects included working with a multinational group of stakeholders and team members with over 26 passports held by the diverse group of third world and westerners. This project improved the data bank blood system for the King Faisal Hospital and Research Centre in Saudi Arabia. This project was also one of Sue’s most successful.

Coaching Experience

Sue has over 10 years’ experience coaching primarily small businesses, supply chain professionals and sales executives in aspects of business performance improvement.
