Areas of expertise

Ken has extensive experience as an executive coach, analyst, teacher of martial arts practice and philosophy, and business owner. Additionally, he conducts clinical supervision of both qualified and trainee psychotherapists and counsellors, and as a Karate Do 4th Dan Black Belt, Ken has a proven record of success in the intensive pro tempore coaching of individuals for martial arts competition. As an invited guest speaker, Ken frequently delivers lectures on a range of subjects relevant to both Psychotherapy and Psychological Wellbeing.

Ken has a special interest in assertiveness training and the resolution of conflict in its myriad forms. We all bring to relationships 'blind spots' from our previous experience in life, but we are not always conscious of this. Ken aims to reveal what lies behind the conflict in a relationship by attending to the conscious and unconscious aspects to facilitate lasting change.

Coaching experience

Ken’s coaching style is professional, well grounded and practical. He is committed to understanding and developing the capacity of the human potential and believes that self-awareness empowers individuals to embrace and facilitate change. Ken helps individuals to understand the unconscious dynamics that often confound our conscious view of a problem, and to recognise how a problem has arisen, how it functions and what interferes with resolving it.

By recognising unconscious processes within our self and others we can facilitate substantial and lasting personal and professional change. In his coaching Ken aims to reveal the inherent (but often unrecognised) capabilities in the client, thereby facilitating the client to significantly contribute to their own lasting professional and personal development.

Ken has delivered workshops nationally and has coached executives and managers from many public and private authorities and organisations, including the City of Joondalup, the Government of Western Australia Departments of Sport & Recreation and Child Protection, the Alcock Brown-Neaves (ABN) Group, Ajilon, and The Bethanie Group Inc.
