Knock out your negativity

The other day I had coffee with a friend whom I hadn’t seen for a while, and as she arrived I noticed how well she looked – her eyes were clear and sparkling, she looked fit and had a spring in her step.

She confessed almost immediately that something was different. She told me she had had a complete change of mindset and her life, which she had previously found somewhat uninspiring, was now fulfilling her.

So what happened to bring on this change?

She had been on a skiing holiday in Austria, and as she put it, “I was knocked out by a snowboarder and somehow it must have knocked out the negative bit of my brain!”

Ever since, and despite the ongoing pain of a whiplash injury, she has been living every day in the present, has stopped looking at work as a 9 to 5 ‘chore’ and now sees it as a series of interesting activities, and has been going to the gym every day. She realised that she ‘wasn’t quite so young any more’ and therefore needed to live every day as if it was her last.

Many of the executives we work with at Integral Development feel they are stuck in a life that they don’t find fulfilling, but feel powerless to do anything about it – whether it be because of financial pressures, other peoples’ expectations, or their own lack of confidence. Through our coaching practice we often help people to find fulfillment in their work and life.

So if you can identify with the feeling of being ‘stuck in the rat race’, you have a couple of options – either book coaching with Integral Development, or strap on your skis and take your chances!
