Mindfulness at Work

Being able to be fully in the present moment and to hold one’s attention in an open, aware way, focussing on what is important at that time is a key skill of a successful professional and manager. Recent research has shown that an effective manager is 10 times more likely to be in the present moment without thoughts, concerns or distractions than less effective managers.

Self talk, emotional reactions, worries and unclear thinking results in poor decisions, conflict at work as well as loss of sleep, lower energy and poor health. Mindfulness at work is also being recognised as an important component in reducing accidents and injuries at work.

As a result of the growing research and awareness of the value of this skill, many organisations are incorporating mindfulness training into their training and management programs.

This workshop teaches participants how to become aware when they are not in the present moment, and when their self talk is counterproductive and inhibiting their effectiveness. The course teaches techniques to be fully in the present, the experience of flow and how to acting and respond effectively in challenging and high performance situations.

The workshop provides tools, techniques, questionnaires and practical ways that a person can use to become more effective in their own job and also help others that they manage or work with to be more fully in the present.
