Ron Laurie
State Manager, Victoria
Ron Laurie has been researching integral theory and application since 1988. He is uniquely placed in a key position internationally on the application of Integral Theory - a methodology for investigating, aligning and restructuring individuals, cultures and systems, and optimising their potential to reach the next level of performance.
Evolving cultural dynamics, both in the boardroom and throughout western society, has always drawn Ron Laurie's interest. From the close-knit tribalism of clan life in his native Scotland, through the aggressiveness of adolescent life in Glasgow, to insights into fundamentalism of religious movements, and on into the corporate boardrooms of the UK and Australia, Ron has lived through and observed a diversity of thought and perspectives most people never even dream of. Ron has been described by clients as a seer of cultural dynamics, and a navigator for the emerging culture.
For over twelve years Ron's consulting company, INTEG Solutions, has created programs, advised government, education, manufacturing, sport and health sectors, and has facilitated organisational transformation by coaching CEOs, Boards of Directors and senior executives. Ron integrates practical and pragmatic applications of Spiral Dynamics and Integral Theory to many areas of corporate leadership, strategy, organisational dynamics, business management, sales management, consumer feedback, employability, and peak performance for athletes. Organisations he has worked with include the Office of State Revenue (NSW), Telstra Corporation, Swinburne University Faculty of Business & Enterprise, Hooker Cockram Projects Ltd, National Gallery of Victoria, Victorian Institute of Sport, Meinhardt Engineering, Genepharm Pty Ltd, International Teleradiology Corporation, Funtastic Ltd, Vic Roads, Visy Group and the Department of Sustainability and Environment.
At Swinburne, Ron is affectionately referred to as a "pracademic" - he makes sense to academics, and delivers practical results for the university's corporate clients. Ron was selected to be on an elite team to deliver extensive and specialised leadership development programs for over 3,000 leaders for one of Swinburne University's major clients. Ron enjoys a constant flow business through personal referrals and recommendations.
The application of Integral Theory isn't just for the boardroom. Ron has shown this by utilising Spiral Dynamics and Integral Theory in his role as the marketing mastermind behind the grass-roots campaign for the Australia-wide independent documentary film launch What the Bleep Do We Know? By identifying emerging subcultures, and speaking the language of these subcultures, Ron helped the movie buzz spread like wildfire, and the film is ranked #45 in the top 100 documentaries of all time, grossing over $1.3 million at the Australian box office as at March 2010.
Ron is an accredited Behaviour and Values Analyst with CBPA (Certified Professional Behavioural Analyst) and Gravesian ECLET Values Analyst holding accreditations in Spiral Dynamics I and II, Dr Cook-Greuter's Leadership Development Framework (LDF), and the Integral 360˚ Leadership Profile. Ron's current research and study involves the application of Transpersonal Psychology to the field of Integral Leadership. This approach has been tested in several interventions that Ron has facilitated and promises to deliver the needed capacity and competency for today's rapid change and the next generation of leadership
Ron and his work have been featured in various publications, including American Express Magazine, the Annual Report of the Victorian Institute of Sport, The Herald Sun, The Age Aspire Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The West Australian, and has been interviewed several times on ABC radio.
Ron speaks and advises on the shifting landscape of positive social transformation within Australia, and is a key contributor to many social change initiatives. He has served as President of SLAM (The Spiritual Leadership and Management Network), and Advisor to the Board of the SHIFT Foundation. Top Qual IT, one of Australia's first IT networking organisations, had Ron run a program for their leadership team, and they loved his work so much that they engaged him as their CEO.
Ron is a founding member of Integral Melbourne and a member of The Integral Institute. He was a keynote speaker for the Australian Integral Leadership Conference and participated in the Inaugural Australian Spiral Dynamics Symposium. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Facilitators and a specified person on the Australian Public Service Commission's Capability Development Panel.
Currently Ron is pioneering the presence of Integral Development Pty Ltd as their State Manager (Victoria), Consultant and Coach. Integral Development is one of Australia's most unique and experienced Leadership and Management consultancies.
Ron has travelled the globe visiting every major continent. Now living in Melbourne Australia, having raised two healthy and purposeful adolescents with his wife of 28 years, Avril, he dedicates his time and energy to support the evolvement of integral culture that is now emerging throughout western society.
